Drag Queens and People Who Are Transgender Are Not the Threat to Children: Priests, Pastors, and Youth Ministers Are the Problem

Reporter for religionnews.com, Sylvie Corbett, wrote about French Catholics who were abused by priests getting reparations in France. 

France’s Catholic bishops’ conference agreed to provide reparations after a 2021 report estimated some 330,000 children were sexually abused over 70 years by priests or other church related people in France. It was based on a broader research by France’s National Institute of Health and Medical Research into sexual abused of children. The report cites a “systemic” coverup by church officials and urged the French Catholic Church to respect the rule of law in France.

More than 1,180 victims of priests or other church-related personnel have come forward to claim compensation. 32% were women, and 68% were men. In 58% of the cases, the abuse lasted more than a year.

And on the website, Joemygod.com, there is usually a daily story about a Protestant minister, youth group leader, or other church-related people who have been guilty of child sexual abuse, usually with young boys. 

For example, just from March 16, 2023 on joemygod.com site, it is reported that James Johnson of Florida was found guilty of molesting children. In Queens/NYC, a Catholic Deacon will be serving 16 years in jail because of sexually molesting children. https://www.joemygod.com/2023/03/catholic-deacon-gets-16-years-on-child-sex-charges/

Jonathan Sauers, who worked in a Christian academy, along with coaching soccer, is found guilty of sexually molesting children. https://www.joemygod.com/2023/03/christian-school-teacher-arrested-on-child-sex-charges-2/

I could go on.

Everyday there are reports of three, four, or more, usually men, who are found guilty and placed in prison for sexually molesting usually young boys, who were working in either a church or were a teacher at a Christian academy.

And yet the laws that have been created recently by Republican state legislators, like Tennessee, are all targeted at stopping drag queens from performing in public, because they are seen as “grooming” or molesting young children. Point of fact, with evidence: No drag queen has been found guilty of sexually molesting children. However, those people have been found working in churches and Christian-related schools. 

The reason these new laws were created is because there is an anti-LGBTQIA2S+ bias in this country. What is really sad is that not all drag queens are part of the LGBTQIA2S+. 

The passage of these laws in states like Tennessee must stop. 

Focus on the really problems in terms of sexual molestation of young children.

The problem is in the church.

The Threat of Stoning a Black Gay Man in Oregon! Time to Rise Up!

 As reported by Rachel Shatto in the Advocate.com website on Aug. 5, 2021 (that is 2021), Eric Osterberg, who is assistant to the city manager of Klamath Falls and staff-lead for the city's equity task force, was about to deliver a report on equity in the city before the city council when a man stood up with a stone the size of his hand and said to Eric: "Oh, so you think we are all racists? Discriminating in the Name of God at Calvin University

I read this article on advocate.com, by Trudy Ring, about an assistant professor on the faculty of Calvin University, who was fired from his position at Calvin because he officiated at a wedding of a same sex couple. The by-line? " Joseph Kuilema lost his job with Calvin University after officiating a queer couple's wedding. He's disgusted that the school discriminates in the name of God. ” That about says it all. Yes, the University is discriminating against LGBTQIA2S+ people and allies. I don’t get it. There are a lot of  smart, creative, insightful people at Calvin University. They don’t have to “buy” into the conservative politics of the Christian Reformed Church, of which they are connected. They are an institution of higher education. Surely, they can see discrimination when it is around them in the Grand Rapids area.  But apparently they are all right with openly practicing discrimination among themselves, especially when it comes to LGBTQIA2S+ people.  F...
